Lapis Lazuli Sterling Silver Phoenix Rising Necklace

Item Description

N256   Phoenix Rising

5 x 3 mm lapis lazuli heishi paired with a half troy ounce of sterling silver make up this necklace.  The sterling silver focal bead is broom corn silver - that is, I take scrap silver and melt it, then pour it over wet broom corn to get interesting shapes and textures.  This particular large piece of broom corn silver looks to me like a phoenix beginning to rise.  You can see the head starting to come up and the wings ready to unfold.

The necklace also has sterling silver clasp and findings.  It is 18 inches long.  Would look good on anyone!  One of a kind.

Many thanks to John Baca for teaching me how to make broom corn silver.
