Red Creek Stone Sterling Silver Earrings

Item Description

Soft gold, black and cream colored Red Creek stone 23 x 13 mm shield cabochons are set in sterling silver for these earrings.  The Red Creek stone shields have patterns reminiscent of a water color painting in the stones.  Random sterling silver balls embellish these earrings.  Ear wires are handmade from 20 gauge sterling silver round wire.  The silver has been oxidized with a light golden sheen to compliment the stones in these earrings.  The drop on these earrings is about 1 1/4 inches.

Red Creek stone comes from China where it was discovered in 2010.  It is frequently sold as a jasper, however this stone is a bit softer than a jasper and the GIA is still determining the actual composition of the stone.  So, if you see Red Creek jasper, ask if it is from China or the U.S.  There is a similar color jasper found here in the U.S. that is appropriately sold as jasper.
